Overview
Gallerio is designed with privacy in mind. The app processes your photos and performs face detection entirely on your device. No photos, face data, or personal information are uploaded to external servers or shared with third parties.
Photo library access
Gallerio requests access to your device's photo library to display, organize, and manage your photos within the app. It reads photos solely for display and local processing. Photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored outside your device.
You can grant, restrict, or revoke photo library access at any time in Settings under “Privacy & Security → Photos.”
Face recognition and face data
Gallerio analyzes photos on your device to detect faces and group similar-looking faces into person clusters. The app processes face bounding boxes, temporary face crops, and numeric face embeddings generated on-device with Apple's Core ML and Vision frameworks. You may optionally assign display names to person clusters.
Face crops are used only temporarily in memory and are not stored as image files. The app stores only the local photo asset identifier, face bounding box, numeric embedding, person cluster identifier, and optional user-entered person name in an on-device SQLite database.
This face data is used only to provide local photo search, person filtering, and person naming. It is not uploaded, sold, shared, used for advertising, or used to identify you outside the app. Gallerio does not send face data to Schey Digital Services or third parties.
Face data remains on your device until you delete the app or reset or rebuild the local analysis index inside the app. If photos are removed from your photo library, stale local index entries are ignored and no longer shown in filters.
Data we do not upload or track
Gallerio does not upload, transmit, or persistently store any of the following outside your device:
- Photos or image content
- Face image files or persistent face crops
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Device identifiers
- Location data
- Personal information, except optional names you enter locally
Third-party services
Gallerio does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No data is shared with third parties.
Data storage and security
All data processed by Gallerio, including organizational metadata, is stored locally on your device and protected by its built-in security mechanisms. Schey Digital Services has no access to this data.
Children's privacy
Gallerio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
